Peculiar And Odd

The hair was a gift from Kurt Cobain, the cigar was a gift from Cuba,

And the grey coat was a gift from the Gods,

Maybe that is why the man in this picture looks so peculiar and odd,

Babies are born, young infants grow up quickly in an instant,

People change they look and act different, misunderstood like Vincent,

Memories are like paintings, imprinted in the brain, unforgotten art,

Some pictures are lost in the dark, but will always live on in a person’s soul and heart,

An independent adult mind, living in a big World, needing no assistance,

It is okay to be different, divergent and disparate, appreciate the diversity of existence,

An individual with mental and physical strength, the soul is unified and consistent,

Chasing dreams with persistence, eyes can see them shining with the stars in the distance,

Travelling far, people are searching to find out who and what they really are,

Confused heads are spinning like the planets, magnificent minds are ready to shine like the stars,

Are we all just insignificant like little insects, bugs, snails and slugs?

Or Are we all really significant? Everything has a purpose and a meaning even this warm mug…

Of coffee that still can’t energize a lost soul, a rogue, a scoundrel and a thug,

Will the Sun pull the plug on itself? Because we think we shine brighter, we are so smug,

Stare into this old photograph, this young man is sad, despairing and regretful, he would shrug…

If you asked him a question, Dismissive or despondent? Too shy to speak, he needed love and a hug,

Instead he drank a jug of beer, he couldn’t afford a spaceship, all he had was a magic flying rug,

Pleasant and congenial, feeling safe and snug, being intergalactic gets you higher than any drug,

The hair was a gift from Kurt Cobain, the cigar was a gift from Cuba,

And the grey coat was a gift from the Gods,

Maybe that is why the man in the picture looks so peculiar and odd.
