The Piano Plays

IMG_0076

The piano plays,

Reminds me of better days,

Serenade my soul, hope love stays,

Pictures fade so do goals, a poet says,

“Change direction, change your ways,

before blue skies turn grey”,

Alleyway cats, shadows in the night,

Dangerous avenues, putting up a fight,

Defending myself on the road,

A warrior in battle mode,

Stick to one code,

So the heart can rest in my abode,

Writing loads pen kissed the toad,

True beauty can’t erode,

How does the future bode?

Well I hope, Life is a show, another episode,

Debts paid, debts owed,

Where to go? No one knows,

Friends and foes come and go like shadows,

A true soulmate answers yes or no?

A red rose, a ring, promise and propose,

Time froze, two souls exposed,

Only God knows,

I suppose God needed a writer, I’m the one she chose,

Different weather, rain or snow,

Experiences, people grow,

Whether told through poem or prose,

That’s how the story goes,

The piano plays,

Reminds me of better days,

Serenade my soul, hope love stays,

Pictures fade so do goals, a poet says,

“Change direction, change your ways,

before blue skies turn grey”,

A writer’s rage, displayed on a page,

A performer’s stage,

Refusing to wither away like old age,

The World is a cage,

The pen offers an escape,

A superhero minus the cape,

Ideas stick to the brain like sticky tape,

A cosmic King draped…

In flashy jewels rules…

his own mind, no time for cosmic duals,

A World divided into Hypocrites and fools,

Few are hip and cool,

Debts paid, debts owed,

Where to go? No one knows,

Friends come and go like shadows,

A true soulmate answers yes or no?

A red rose, a ring, promise and propose,

Time froze, two souls exposed,

Only God knows,

I suppose God needed a writer, I’m the one she chose,

Different weather, rain or snow,

Experiences people grow,

Whether told through poem or prose,

That’s how the story goes.
