Hot Summer’s Day

A hot scorching, sizzling summer’s day,

The sun no longer hides…

Behind dark clouds,

On the ground fiery feet walk through the countryside,

Two lovers side by side, Souls entwined,

Happy because wet,wild winter died,

Soon it will return and resurrect from the dead,

But for now let’s enjoy this short summer’s ride,
It’s a delightful day to be alive,

Heavenly hills,

A sweet summer’s breeze,

Swaying trees and dancing daffodils,

A proper high, no need to smoke weed,

Take speed or pop pills,

Incredible lyrical skill,

Like a camera describing a moment when time stood still,

An artist’s dream, a pallet of vibrant colours,

With the brush he’s a master,

With the pen he can paint the picture even faster,

I capture a moment along with a million souls,

Enlightening the darkness like gold,

Control…

Time and score your goals,

A hot scorching, sizzling summer’s day,

The Sun no longer hides…

Behind dark clouds,

On the ground fiery feet walk through the countryside,

Two lovers side by side, souls entwined,

Happy because wet, wild winter died,

Soon it shall return and rise from the dead,

But for now let’s enjoy this short summer’s ride,

Red roses and tulips,

Youth looking for truth and guidance,

A beacon of light,

The sun shines,

Rosy red cheeks,

Sweating,

Feeling flushed and flustered,

Skin redder than red wine,

Heat can cause confusion,

To cool down we venture for shade,

In a nearby forest full of pine…

Trees, at ease we appreciate the shade,

But at night time,

It will obscure our view of the star signs,

Forget about the sun going down,

This is a glorious day to be alive,

Capture our joy and elation in time,

A rare moment,

Feeling fine,

Is this all God’s purposeful, intricate and delicate design?

A hot scorching, sizzling summer’s day,

The sun no longer hides…

Behind dark clouds,

Onthe ground fiery feet walk through the countryside,

Two lovers side by side, Souls entwined,

Happy because wet, wild winter died,

Soon it shall return and resurrect from the dead,

But for now let’s enjoy this short summer’s ride,

We don’t want this day to end,

Embracing the heat and the soul of nature,

Our friend,

It means everything,

My nostrils smell pollen,

I hope the bees don’t sting my skin,

Sweating, thinking,

Summer’s so much hotter than spring,

Butterflies are fluttering their wings,

Our ears are listening to the birds sing,

Could an artist paint the pain, the joy and happiness my words bring?

Infinite imagination,

a true artist’s expression and impression of simple perfection,

Over time we learn valuable lessons,

Stare into the river,

Face to face with the soul,

My real reflection,

The rays of the sun begin to fade,

Wise words,

Perfect paintings and treasured memories,

Will eventually fade away,

It is unfortunate to say, but so will this hot summer’s day.
